1. Intent

Vision Intelligence Limited and its subsidiaries are committed to protecting your privacy. We are bound by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, ensuring that personal information is handled with care and transparency.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to all personal information collected by Vision Intelligence Limited. It replaces all previous privacy policies and commences operation from the "Date Issued" noted above.

3. Collection

Vision Intelligence Limited will only collect personal information by lawful and fair means. Collection occurs if the information is reasonably necessary for our functions, such as the supply of security, monitoring, and surveillance goods or services.

  • Awareness: We take reasonable steps to ensure individuals are aware that their information is being collected.
  • Types of Data: We typically collect names, addresses, telephone numbers, and, where relevant for business transactions, financial details.
  • Sensitive Information: We do not usually collect sensitive information. If required, we will only do so with your explicit consent and in accordance with Information Privacy Principle 4.
  • Third Parties: We may collect information from publicly available sources or third parties if you have consented or would reasonably expect us to do so. If we receive unsolicited information, we will determine if it could have been collected under legal principles and, if not, we will de-identify or destroy it.

4. Use and Disclosure

Vision Intelligence Limited uses personal information strictly for the purposes for which it was provided, including:

  • Providing services and fulfilling administrative functions (e.g., creditworthiness assessments).
  • Entering into contracts with you or third parties.
  • Marketing and client relationship management.
  • Internal management purposes.

Overseas Disclosure: We may store data via cloud services or share it with foreign related entities. In doing so, we comply with Information Privacy Principle 12, taking reasonable steps to ensure the overseas recipient protects the information in a manner consistent with New Zealand privacy standards.

5. Data Quality and Security

  • Accuracy: We take reasonable steps to ensure data is accurate, complete, and up to date (IPP 7).
  • Protection: We employ physical and electronic security measures, including firewalls and secure databases, to protect against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse (IPP 5).
  • Retention: Personal information is destroyed or permanently de-identified once it is no longer required for a legitimate business or legal purpose (IPP 9).

6. Access and Correction

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you. You also have the right to request a correction if you believe the information is inaccurate. Requests should be directed to our Privacy Officer (IPP 6 & 7).

7. Privacy Complaint Handling

If you believe a breach of privacy has occurred, please follow our resolution process:

  1. Acknowledgement: We will acknowledge your complaint within ten (10) business days.
  1. Investigation: Our Privacy Officer will investigate the matter, potentially requesting further information.
  1. Resolution: We aim to provide a proposed resolution within forty-five (45) business days.
  1. Escalation: If you are not satisfied, you may direct your complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (NZ)
